Saturday Sep 28, 2019
Saturday Sep 28, 2019
This week on the NXpress Nintendo Podcast we start by discussing Mario Kart Tour, Nintendo’s latest foray into the mobile market. Can Mario Kart Tour revolutionize the series for mobile or is the game a complete disappointment from Nintendo?
Next, Ricky goes wild for Sayanora Wild Hearts, the latest from indie developer Simogo and publisher Annapurna, the visionaries behind Year Walk and Device 6.
In the main event, the gang reviews Link’s Awakening for Switch which according to Patrick, doesn’t quite reach the definitive summit. Do the rest of the boys agree with his review? Considering the original Game Boy game is Tim’s favourite Zelda game, chances are they don’t.
Last but not least, the gang discusses the problems with shopping at GameStop and why they prefer to either buy digital copies of games or order games online. All this and more!

NXpress Nintendo Podcast #53: Animal Crossing retrospective and 'Link's Awakening'

Animal Crossing celebrated a big milestone last week, and we're certainly feeling plenty of nostalgia for the series. Fifteen years, six games and a whole lot of amiibo figures later, we're taking a look back at the Animal Crossing series this week. In our main event, we continue our Legend of Zelda marathon and discuss Links Awakening, an adventure set on the mysterious Koholint Island, a place where dreams and reality collide. As a castaway, Link must find a way to escape from the island and return to his beloved homeland of Hyrule. The Legend Of Zelda: Link's Awakening graced the monochromatic screens of Game Boys across the globe back in 1994, and two of three of us only played the game for the first time last week in preparation for the podcast. Joining us this week is Goomba Stomp's Chris Souza. All this and more!

The 18 Best Legend of Zelda Songs

Shigeru Miyamoto’s masterpiece The Legend of Zelda laid the groundwork for almost every action-RPG that came after it, and it has become a staple franchise for Nintendo that is still going strong, 30 years later. The Legend of Zelda series also has some of the greatest music video soundtracks ever composed, thanks to the genius compositions by Nintendo go-to composer, Koji Kondo. As part of our month-long Zelda marathon, I’ve put together a mix-tape of my favourite tracks from the Zelda series. Included are original compositions, extended versions, remixes, cover songs and even a few bonus surprises. This here, is dedicated to my colleague and co-host of the NXpress podcast, Mr. Tim Maison. Enjoy!
