With E3 looming close, this latest episode sees a bit of the calm before the proverbial storm. This week first sees Rick, Tim, and Patrick discussing a bit about the announcement that Resident Evil 7 will be releasing on Switch in Japan as a streaming game. Could this be the future for titles developers are unable (or unwilling) to get running on Nintendo's hybrid? And does this future offer the possibility for Switch owners to play the biggest games, or provide a concerning move into digital rentals? Some of us are more optimistic than others, but we're all cautiously intrigued.
For our second segment, the new Donkey Kong DLC on the horizon for Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle got us thinking: what are some other crossovers we'd like to see in the Nintendoverse? Our own Tim Maison recently wrote an article about his very own wish list, a few of which he shares, so Rick and Patrick throw in some picks of their own (Pushmo x BOXBOY=no brainer).
To round the show out, the guys talk about the recently released Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition, the latest Wii U port to make its way to the Switch. And why not? The game is a blast, absolutely loaded with content, and with all the DLC from both the Wii U and 3DS versions along with some slight improvements in other areas, is the best iteration available. Sure, it might not be quite as good as Fire Emblem Warriors, but Zelda fans should still give this one a shot if it passed them by the first two times. For all this and more, have a listen!
